Hi Everyone!
I have 8 wk old chickies: 2 EEs, 1 GLW, 1 Standard Cochin. Everyone except the cochin seems to have dry combs. The cochin is also the only with the little bumpies, the rest have rather flat combs so far. Is it a result of wind and weather (we're in WI, it's been in the 40s/50s during the day and they have a heat lamp in a snuggly warm coop at night) OR is it just the difference between the breeds? Is there any thing I should do or should I stop mothering them?
Thanks in advance!

I think what you're seeing is just the difference in breeds. I believe that EEs and GLW both have pea combs. Google it and you should see what I mean. My GLW are 16wks now and still don't have a comb to speak of. Don't worry! and keep on mothering!

They can get dry pox which will show on their combs and waddles. Nothing you can do..and once they get those, they generally don't get them again (kinda like our chicken pox).

If it's just dry, you can rub on vaseline or Vicks Vapor rub on them....I use Vicks myself
