Well, sometimes the air cell draws down further after that day 18 lock down candling,
but yeah sometimes they miss.

That’s quite a big clump, but looks like just waste. If the chick doesn’t pull it off soon, you can pinch it off, out as far away from the body as possible, just leave the tiny string attached to the chick. That part will dry up and fall off.

Not sure! Almost looks like a twin that didn’t survive.
