I think that's pretty normal, tho the membrane part usually stays mostly attached to egg.

have a chick with wry neck, solutions? out of all chick meds wasn’t expecting to hatch this early & didn’t get meds at feed store... never dealt with this ever. also had to help this one out of shell, it couldn’t get its head out & was getting shrink wrapped

Don't use a syringe, easy to drown them by aspriation.
First give it time to recover from being hatched, at least a few hours.
I use a soaked qtip to administer liquids, hold against side of beak,
liquid will wick into mouth and chick should swallow.
Stroke under beak and in front of throat to stimulate it to swallow if necessary.

You can give a couple 'drops' of Nurti Drench directly without dilution.
BUT...first....
How long since chick hatched?
