D'uccle Thread

I accidentally ended up with a millie hen at an auction the seller was not around and no one knew what it was. On the auction slip they listed it as something with feathers. So now I either hve to buy a roo or re home her.she is living with my Seramas right now.btw anyone have an extra roo?

Where are you located? That may help in finding a roo. I have several chicks and juveniles but I am in Oklahoma

Sorry im in lansing MI. This whole chicken thing started out as " hey lets get some chickens, sure honey these are small they must be young" 3 weeks later and 2 weeks worth of pay and ibuilt a coop that is one building seperated into 3 seperate areas. The layers and seramas and a pair of old english.and then came the reeding and research so now I want pheonix bantams. For the layers I got 2 buff orp 2 silver and 2 gold wyandottes and a silver brahma. Like I need more work. Already have horses goats tortoises and more projects. Chickens are like crack lol

Are you planning on breeding her? You don't have to have a rooster of the same breed as her. Do you breed your others for Purbreed hatches? If not I'd save the hassle and just add her to one of your existing groups

Well to be honest I have not bred any chickens yet lol but I have bred a lot of other animals from reptiles to fish and I like to keep things as close to the standard as I can get. I may just keep her in with the Seramas. Ill have to see if there is a difference in her egg and Serama.

I have a proven 1.5 year old roo - very good coloring and facial flesh is right - good feet feathers. ...... he is now the pappa of 3 little ones - and I would like to remove him from my flock so as to keep strong and mixed genetics ....

However - I am so far from everyone - it prob won't make sense for you to get him - I'm in Vermont.

My 3 little ones are similar color ... and I am wondering too - at first I thought both mom and dad may have had some porcilin coloring ... but now they are showing more orange - so I think mine will be traditional millie flor ....

I hope others here can tell us :)
