D'uccle Thread

If you plan to show your d'Uccles, then you can get points for shows in states where there is a state rep and set shows.

Honestly, I hope more people join and are willing to participate actively. The leaders are getting up there in age and it's time for new blood. I wish we could've had a table at the OH Nationals, and will check into that next year if I can participate in the show then

I like to use the American Bantam Association list of events:

Just scroll down and find shows in your area.

Chickie'sMoma :

there's the Poultry Congress in southern MA coming up in mid-January if you are interested in showing any birds!

That one will be huge and awesome.

Bobwhite- go back through the pages on this site, you will find many pictures of hens. I know I've place a pic or two.

I'm interested in the January show, I think it would be a great over night and break from the homestead. I don't have a thing to show, nor should I think about it. I would love to find a nice trio of MF's that I could incorporate in the spring. My poor 2 gals are lonely.
Do any of you D's owners have trio's to "cull" from your flock, after this month of course.

You talk about getting active members to belong to clubs, so many clubs and bird lovers are dwindling due to so many other things to do, no time for encouraging birds. I've actually have people come to see our birds (nothing special- don't think I'm bragging :0) ) and become shocked at the MF's and couldn't imagine showing birds...dogs yes, cats yes, chickens "really".

Anyways, I'm still lurking! Stupid question here, how do you keep your feathered feet in show shape? I swear my girls must have scissors in the hutch the way their feathers are. They are on a bed of shavings. Just curious.

Have a super night/day and can't wait for January now! I hear its huge down in Mass.
