D'uccle Thread

Here's one of my most beautiful Mille Fleur d'Uccles, unfortunately, she died in a hawk attack a few weeks ago

So sorry for your birds! I just lose my girl Miracle today, so I know how you feel. Still trying to find cause of death.

it is so sad compared to other pets how short lived chickens are, especially when you consider how long the CAN live. i look at video i shot two years ago and i kept saying to myself, hes no longer here, shes dead, shes dead...etc. so many diseases and predators and then there is just accidents that a dog/cat wouldn't get in-like drowning in a horse trough.

I'm about 90% sure that she had some kind of internal rupture/injury, or heart problem.

Hi all! A local store gave me this chick for $1 today because they weren't sure what it was. I know it's a D'Uccle, but I'm not sure whether it's porcelain or self-blue. Opinions would be nice!

How can you tell if a day old chick is a d'uccle, I'm thinking about doing the same thing, getting from a TSC.

I picked up what I believe to be 4 mille fleur d'uccles at TSC today, and just wanted to confirm that this is in fact what they are? I'm glad I did because the poor things were suffering from pasty butt terribly and it was so bad that at least 2 of them would have died from it within a few hours, and since there were dozens of chicks left in the bantam bin and almost no one buying chicks it didn't seem likely that they would have been taken care of in that time. They seem to be doing alright so far. They look exhausted in this photos because it wasn't long after we got home and set them up. It was nearly dark so I wanted to quickly take a photo of each while I could.

I actually have 2 mille fleurs on preorder at a breeder, so I was hoping for porcelains, but once I could see them properly I knew they couldn't be. They are mille fleur d'uccles, aren't they?

Also, how old might they be? They seem to have a decent amount of feathering on their wings but they are tiny.

yes, looks like mille fleur pattern, just not a lot of black in their pattern. they look about a week old. they are small babies normally.
