D'uccle Thread

Can someone help me. I have a 9 week old d'uccle. I'm not sure if it's a rooster or hen. Thanks.

Just thought I would bring my situation here, since I'm sure some of you are quite experienced with the d'Uccle breed.

Basically, I've got this extremely odd, but precious MF bird who is 8 months old.....and I still can't tell the gender for sure.

This bird has a weak, wimpy crow, has never showed interest in pullets, hasn't laid, is larger and redder than the true pullet but definitely nothing like the true cockerel I had, has rounded plumage, not pointed, "chats" with me like a pullet, and is ridiculously sweet, no sign of aggression or attitude whatsoever. And yet, from afar, this bird assumes the physical appearance of a cockerel. It's been suggested "it" is a female with an endocrine issue. So confusing for me.

Anybody want to share an opinion?

He's a cute little rooster that probably lacks confidence. He will probably find some next spring when his hormones surge and he becomes mature. He's still a baby yet, give him time. Gentle roosters are better than the more gung ho ones in my opinion.

I had a porcelain hen called Daisy, sweetest littke thing ever. Soooo cute and she used to jump around and deliberately annoy the big chickens. Obviously she wax at the bottom of the pecking order. She died a few days ago on boxing day :( she had a relapse in a bacterial infrction that we previously treated and the vet let us take her home and within half an hour she was dead :... (. I miss her like crazy.
