Hmmmmmmmmmmm..............do you have a side shot of the head? What type of comb does it have. It appears to be a roo/cockerel whatever the comb. I'm going to guess that it is crossed someplace back there with ?????? maybe a Sultan or ???????
No d'Uccle do not have topknots, and sorry but no it's not show quality.
It's VERY cute.

Your McMurray gang doesn't look so bad...with my experience, the more black they have as juveniles, the better they look as adults...their beards look missing though, and by that age they should have at least a small one.

Well, that's OK

Since I have four lighter birds ( one cockerel & three pullets) who have better beards and tufts.......

Gonna be a LONG process here!

Okay I am sooooooooooooo confused. LOL

So..here is the deal....I lost my Porcelain roo to a heart issue so I bought a Mille roo for my procelain girls....so I should get Milles split to lavender breed them and get porcelain....Ummmm no I got porcelains and Mille looking chicks that are feathering different

ok here are the birds involved....

So is my Mille roo split to lavender or? Or could it be I really messed up and got an egg from my other project pen which is a trio of offspring of a Mille over Lavender hens. The birds are black with gold lacing bleedthrough and are throwing only black n whites and straight lavenders. That first mille chick above is throwing me for a loop as is the fact I am getting porcelain looking chicks from the direct mille over porcelain breedings.

I have been consistently getting 2 black and whites to every 1 lavender from this trio

Cetawin (love your screen name by the way), I just wanted to throw in something that you may not have thought of, the chick that you're planning to put down may be the product of an incubation issue and not a genetic problem. Crooked toes and other foot problems are very often caused by some kind of glitch during the development stage brought on by something with the incubator (a brief period of dryness, too hot or too cold), many unknown issues. I've seen it far too often with exotic parrots, they are VERY sensitive. I had to put down a little red and blue lorikeet when it was born with NO feet. Crooked toes I wouldn't have bothered with that, as long as they are not having problems and suffering because of it. Just MHO.
They're beautiful chicks.

As far as what you're getting in color...............very interesting. The first thought I had was your roo being split, but I would think the breeder would have said something about that. I've been breeding a lavender roo to a lav hen and a blue MF and from the blue MF I'm getting the same percentages that you are getting 2 black chicks to 1 lavender. So far I haven't seen any of these chicks at maturity, they are still too young. One of them does have some kind of bay or mahogany bleeding through on the upper breast just in front of the wing. It makes me think of another bird recent seen on here, it is black with a bay colored breast.
You have lovely chicks no matter what color they are.

Oh and by the way, your dark roo that you're using looks like a Brassy Back. I have no idea what their genetic make up is, but that is certainly what he puts me in the mind of.

Lilcrow thank you for the compliments and your thoughts on the babies. This is what I DO know...

Lucky, the little black d'Uccle with the mille bleed through is the offspring of Wegotchickens' gorgeous Mille roo, Tenneessee and Lavender hens. I trust Lori without question that there are not unknowns there. The girls are also half sisters to him. So I have no doubts what his pedigree is.

My porcelain girls are hatchery stock. The mille roo ZoomZoom, came from someone using him for a color project...she got him from another breeder. So he could very easily be a split and neither myself nor the lady I got him from know.

The reason I am putting the little "mille" down is that I called Lori and spoke with her about it and she examined a silkie I had the hatched that way from bought eggs...what she told me was that with the, walking on the sides of their toes and feet as they grow and put weight on, they begin having feet issues. She had one she tried to work with and the poor thing got down and could not get around and she had to put her down. So, I am taking the wisdom from her being a breeder I know and trust, and not putting this little one through that.

Probably a good choice. I've had that kind of experience where you try to save something and it ends up that it would have been better to have ended the suffering early on rather than dragging it out. I think I hang on too long sometimes and make a mess out it when Mother Nature would have done a better job if I had followed Her lead. Too bad though, very cute chick. I totally agree with you about trusting Lori, you can't go wrong if you listen to her.
