HELLO to all,
I was given a trio of mf about two weeks ago by a co-workers dad. He had to get rid of alot of his chickens for health reasons. After I got them home, I started reading this thread..... WOW these are great little birds, and the info you guys and gals share is priceless. I don't know anything about the way 'should' look, but I fell in love with them the moment I saw them. Freddy, the roo, is a bit aggressive. you better not turn your back on him or he will pop you. Daphne and Velma are sweet, they are so quiet you would hardly even know they are there. Once they settled in (this took all of 1 day) they started laying and they give me a dozen eggs a week. Here are a few pics. Plese let me know what what you think.

too funny. One thing I have learned is that chickens will eat just about ANYTHING.

Are you keeping them just as pets or did you want to show eventually? The roo obviously has way too much white on him to show. The hens also have quite a bit of white and not much of a beard or leg feathers. They're what you would call "pet quality". SQ d'uccles are hard to come by and you have to look high and low to find them. The abundance of white would make me guess that yours are a bit older, but start hatching their eggs, save the best looking ones that hatch, and get you a line going. If you see someone with eggs for sale that has really good quality birds, try that route as well.

Thanks for the crowing info, guys. I may re-think keeping them in the house! XD

Where does one find a copy of the SOP?

I know that Cornelius has one spike too many on his comb (he has 6, aren't they supposed to have 5?) but his middle toe coverage is good and he has no white at all right now. The beards on all of them could be better, but they are going through the dinosaur phase right now.

This is Cornelius as a baby! (although the other two looked identical to him at that age)

I'll go get some new pics.

The Standards of Perfection book itself is not online, I've seen people just type a page or two up and post it, I don't believe that's copyright infringement as it is just a bunch of facts. If nobody else has it, I'll type it up for you when I get bored lol. Shouldn't take too long. Any questions about showing, hopefully wegotchickens will help you out with that, she shows hers, I hope to show some of mine coming up in January at the Florida State Fair in Tampa. Still dying to see pictures wegotchickens winning birds

I am desperately trying to find a couple for my Mille Fleur rooster who is 12 weeks old. I'm getting ready to separate out the pairs from the bunch and he has no one to go with. I don't want him to be lonely. I CANNOT find any anywhere.

Sorry Nate!

I have 2 extra teenage girls living with me until the 13th and so life has been a bit more hectic. Also, they keep taking over internet access...

This is the boy that got Best of Breed and Best of Variety (mf cockeral)

I need to get a better photo; he has a gorgeous tail that doesn't show in either of these pics...

A black pullet won Best of the black variety and Reserve of Breed

Her feet are better looking than this photo shows; her feathers were wet.

Internet only went down twice as I tried to post these
