So sorry to hear that!!

Chickenzoo, how are the feathers on your lavs? Is there any feather shredding around the edges? (looks like silkied feathers)

I got my FIRST egg yesterday and another today!!!

The only problem is I'm not sure who it's from

I have a white silkie in with my Porc's so it could of been either my porc' pullet (who's had a super red comb for over a month) or my silkie pullet. Our Porc' roo is in with them so I'm hoping he's doing his job (both eggs are in the bator) Is there any way to tell who's laying? I'm just tickled we are finally getting eggs!! They are small and white, not that, that helps lol

I know the people who bought them so I can get eggs when I'm ready, so it's not too bad. Is Self Blue, Lavender? I always get confused, hehe. Anyhow, no Silkie feathering that I can see.....

How are they Golden neck chicks doing? I lost my little Butterscotch, so I was hoping her babies would do well.....

Hahahaha, my husband thinks my milles are prettier, but I disagree. I think they're both pretty in their own way. Nice foot feathers on that girl, chickenzoo!

Hey, speaking of porcelains, has anyone else noticed trouble with shoulder feathering- breakage on their roos? I don't notice it in my hens. I've got two roosters that I notice it on, I'll probably find new homes for them this fall, just in case it's genetic. Lord knows, I've got like 10 porcelain d'uccle roosters! Of course, as a result, I promised my husband I wouldn't incubate any more bantam eggs this year, so I'm opting for some Jersey Giants instead, and not telling about the broody porcelain sitting on 5 eggs as of yesterday

I wonder how they are going to do, since I just did my annual summer 'Ivermectin' prophylaxis, I hope I don't end up with teenage mutant ninja d'uccles!

LOVE all the birds on this thread. After swearing off all other breeds and swearing that I was only going to focus on Ameraucanas my sister convinced me that she should raise d'uccles. Long story short I now have three d'uccles and haven't the slightest clue on what to breed or look for. She has a pair of blue and black mottleds and a porcelain hen. I'm not having much luck finding breeders of d'uccles around here (Indiana) do any of you know where I can find more porcelains, MFs, and blue and black mottled d'uccles?
