I put up some mille fleur eggs for auction if anybody is interested. So far I only have one offer...my rooster won 1st place at the FL State Fair this past month and my flock is pretty good quality if you are looking to add to yours. My birds are the result of 3 years of selective breeding and they are SQ now

. I put in 10 eggs in the incubator 4 days ago and every single one is fertile.

Yup, I'd say mille fleur & porcelain. Self blue babes are OBVIOUSLY self-blue from the get-go.
Below is a pic of self-blue chicks in with black d'Uccle chicks....

After seeing your black chicks and the blues, of course I have your eggs in the incubator, I hoped you could you tell me if the third d'Uccles chick I've hatched already is black? I see your black chicks have a touch of white at the face? Or what color could this be; mottled?

Yep, looks like a black d'Uccle chick to me!

Mine hatch looking a lot like little penguins. There will be a touch of white on them as adults, usually on the tips of their foot feathers. Ron Tallent, Sr. told me last year that you need a touch of white on black birds to keep them 'true black'; Glossy black feathers with a green sheen. I have had some chicks with white feathers on their wings at 2 weeks old, that went to all black by 8 weeks old.

That said, I have noticed a couple of my recent chicks hatched with considerably more yellow on them, looking more like black mottled instead of black. I suspect I know which bird is throwing them, so I may pull her and sell her... She's adorably sweet and her type is good, though, so I will wait a few weeks to see how they feather out.
