Vulture hocks? Are those the long feathers on their hocks? By feather legged bantam I meant the class of the bird. Is that the class they are under?

im not sure i do know that they are true bantams though...they are also considered ornamental (i think that might be their class but i would wait for the ones who show to answer that)

I wish you were closer. I am done breeding for the year, and am hoping to sell an adult pair of black d'Uccles this weekend in NC.
I won't have hatching eggs again until the fall. Getting too hot to ship eggs, birds all want to go broody on me, and it's time to focus on the show birds for autumn & winter shows.
I've already shown my young black cockeral in a couple of shows. He's got awesome type, but his tail isn't done growing yet. Too young to win; I just wanted him to get some experience.

d'Uccles are in the bantam featherleg class, along with bantam faverolles, bantam cochins, booted bantams, and silkies.

BTW, d'Uccles are strictly bantam. In fact, some were getting a little large and judges will DQ them if they're too big.

Greetings!

Just to let everyone know I'm still plunking along here in Maine .

I have plenty of porcelain Teddi hens and the offspring of Teddi hens. Bantams are not "flying off the shelf" in sales here.....Mainers want LARGE fowl egg layers!

I have a few mille fleurs too, but their color is inconsistant.....working on that. The millies at the Central Maine Show were NOT the darker type.

And finally, I ordered some hatchery d'uccles in yellow neck and self blue. So few places to get those varieties that I had to cave in and hope....

I'm still here and I love my d'Uccles!

I'm still around too! Just have been so busy with working full time and the commute, and a zillion broody hatched babies all growing up! It seems I am selling a pair each weekend just to trim my total numbers when I have more broodies hatching than I have space! I have another two hens going broody on the same day! I was mean & took the eggs. I sold my favorite cockerel tonight :( I feel like such a traitor. His beard wasn't as good as the other boys and his wattles were a bit larger than I prefer, but he kept getting beat up by the oldest in the pen who has all the right 'looks' except maybe not as good coloring. Oh I am going to miss him! But the fella that bought him promised to pet him daily! Last week I sold my second favorite cockerel who was in daily battles with 'The Right Stuff' to the point they were taking it out on the hens. So, now down to 2 young roosters in that pen, and my porcelain cockerels are starting to fight. I noticed once cockerel with a large bloody spot on his tail area, which is depressing because I already have another who is recovering from the same thing and has broken tailfeathers. *sigh*
