So excited! I set an egg for a fertility test, and today, on day 4, I candled and I see veins!!

The egg was from my Brown-Red hen, and Mille roo. I think they will make an interesting combo.

Now, I'll start setting any eggs they lay!
So excited!

Does anyone know how to create a mahogany mille fleur? I crossed my Mille roo and Brown-red hen, so I'm also wondering - if that is not the combination to get mahogany - what color(s) will I get?
Genetics are so confusing. Well, to me anyways.

They are doing great. My boy blue is sweet. I should have pictures up by the beginning of the week. I'm just putting the finishing touches on their outside covered run and they are in their permanent "peep barn" until they are past the adolescent/juvey stage. I'd hate for their feathers to get all matted with nasty mud and what ever else is in the mess we now resistantly call a yard. The black mottled that is the same age as the blue has some red coming in on his hackle feathers though. I just want to see them fully mature lol. To bad they haven't figured out how to fast forward time yet.
