He was older than the other chicks I got he didn't say exactly but I'm guessing between 3-4 weeks the others are 3 weeks give or take a day or 2! He already has a funny personality and flies around!

You can leave some fake eggs in the nest. It usually helps my Phoenixes.

That works for my cochin, too. But then I think leaving rocks in her nest would make her go broody.

My d'uccles typically go broody only after my cochin (who runs the bantam coop) does.

Any way to jump start a hen to go broody?

NOT want them to go broody and need them to keep laying lots of eggs.... Seems to be a sure fire way to get a broody hen! Maybe its just the odds, LOL and try the fake eggs, golf balls. 3-5 in the nesting box. Someone should eventually get interested. Best of luck.

True about the not wanting them too. I don't mind broodies when I'm not separating pens and wanting eggs. But as soon as I want eggs, nope we all want to go broody.
