D'uccle Thread

Please everyone don't feed apple cores to your birds. I fed some to my little d'uccles and my sweet rooster ate the seeds. He got really sick and is dying. :( I am crushed about this since he was my little love and i was the one who did this to him.

Most things i read said that it would be ok, but i know for sure since he was fine a few hours before.

Oh no! Now I will never feed my chickens apples either, ever again! Perhaps try giving him, electrolytes, it might help...

Do d'uccle roosters get along with each other If they have enough hens?

Umm..well, I have two roosters together right now. 4 months old, they aren't hurting each other and d'UCCLEs are known for being mellow and not as aggressive as other roosters. :)

not cyanide?

I have seen so many other posters who didn't have issue, i just got lax. I tried treating for cyanide poisoning. He's through the poison, just weak and not doing really well.

my d'uccle cockerel is my absolute favorite! I can pick him right up and kiss on him. He's so cute! He has started crowing and it's loud enough! our neighbors are super close and I hope it doesn't bother the guy.

I didn't read who all answered as far as pullet but mstricer (I got my 3 from her) has a pullet that has a pretty large comb. So, you could have a pullet. Not sure if she answered or not.
