D'uccle Thread

I wonder if its feet feathers got clogged up with mud and they cut them. With all this rain I've had to wash mines off a time or two. If I'm not mistaken they should grow back after it molts.

I had wondered that too. The other one is not cut so bad. I look forward to that molt then! There fluffy legs and feet are my
Favorite. I love it on my Brahmas too.

That is a little cockerel. Poor thing, looks like he's a cross beak.
This is so difficult to hear. Are you very sure?? This is by far the sweetest chicken I have...just loves to sit in my lap. Yes, he does have a cross beak. Its not too bad yet but I'm worried it will get worse. We live in a neighborhood and I can't have a crowing rooster in the yard. I can't imagine who would take this rooster due to the cross beak. He has also always been a little fragile....had a respiratory thing when very small and we really didnt' think he (still hard to say) would make it. And just to tiny compared to my other hens. I will call the breeder and get his suggestions but I will never get any chicks from him again. So disapointed and my kids are really worried about what is going to happen to him. Maybe I can find a way to keep him but the crowing would be a big issue for us and our neighbors I'm afraid. :(

Aww I am so sorry. Maybe it will be a pullet still.
I ended up with another unexpected cockerel
But as long as he is not aggressive I can keep him. We do not have any close neighbors.
I hope it all works out for you.

Perhaps you could make a deal with your neighbors...??? It might be a quiet little guy...or maybe we are wrong and it is a Pullet. I hope you can keep it...:)

Crowcreek the first guy has a bad comb and wattles looks to be mixed and the second on probably is a boy too. If you traded a we right trio for it you more and Likely got the short end of the stick

Perhaps. We won't do anything yet..just wait and pray that it is a pullet in disguise or that he is a quiet rooster. Or maybe we have way cooler neighbors than we think. :)

The one with no waddles and small comb acts like a pullet too. It seems to even walk like one. Maybe I am grasping. I will see. I don't think they were trying to con me. I think they just didn't know and I was stupid. If I can't
Keep them we will if someone else will want them or the people i got them from will take back.
