D'uccle Thread

I got my first D'uccle hen at the fair last year, and I fell head over heels in love with this wonderful breed! Today my babies arrived and they are a big assortment of colors. I would love some help figuring out what colors I got. Rosie my first hen is a golden neck I think. I'll post a pic of her and one of the babies.

So cool! Keep posting as more feathers come in, can't wait to see more!
I will post pics as it develops.

I think a blue mottled. Doesn't the Lavender gene dilute both reds and blacks?

It's autosomal recessive, so you need two copies for it to be expressed. So, you would get splits unless the mottled bird was split for lavender already. I can't answer on the patterning, since I'm not sure if mottling is a different pattern from the pattern that makes MF, but I would guess for color you'd get blacks split to lavender...

I just can't wait to get some different colored pullets and finally start getting eggs! All I have right now is Millie Fluer and Porcelin. I am looking into mottleds, self blues and brown reds.
