D'uccle Thread

Yes that pen is throwing me nothing but Blue Milles. He is the father of my Blue Milles. Are you talking Black Mottled? I have lots of the they are beautiful once they get past the awkward stage. I like them.

ill go to the pic of the one I like... do you ship adults or started birds?

I have some started Black Mottled, Splash, and a Mille roo, not sure if i want to keep him yet, still on the fence.

Anyone in the western KY area with d'Uccle chicks?

Ordered Porcelains from one hatchery, just to find out later that they had hatching issues, so wasn't able to get them. Had ordered 2 Mille Fleurs from another hatchery (My Pet Chicken) around the same time since they sex. Well, just got my shipment today and both my Mille Fleur chicks died on me. I really wanted d'Uccles too.

Would prefer not to have any shipped if I can help it.

Did they die during shipment? If so they will replace them. I have chicks but would prefer 3 to 6 as min for shipment. I will be hatching in 2 1/2 weeks.

wait till it is slightly cooler during the day for shipping like early fall or late spring when temps aren't close to or in the 100's

One died during shipment, the other died a while after getting it home. It was fine one minute and then went down hill from there.

We did all we could to save her. We had an Easter Egger that was heading down hill too, but we were able to save her and she's doing fine this morning. My last shipment arrived the day after hatching, but these little guys didn't arrive until 2 days later. I think 2 days in this heat was just too much.

They'll credit my card or give me store credit, but they won't replace them. I had them credit my card. See, they go by area as to how few they'll ship...they can only ship a minimum of 8 bantams to my area.

I saw your ad and thought about you...your birds are just gorgeous...I would just really worry about shipping in this heat though. I'm in KY and it's sooo hot here right now.

Yeah, the heat is my worry and why I would prefer not to ship. That's why I'm hoping someone in my area has some...I could drive out and pick them up.

I'm just heartbroken 'cause out of all the birds I ordered, the d'Uccles are the ones I wanted the most. I've heard so many great things about them and they're just so stinkin' cute! The one hatchery ran out and then the other two from the other shipment died, so I've had bad luck all the way around with getting some.
