D'uccle Thread

Posting a pic of my little blue mille fleur boy I hatched from some of the eggs I won in the NYD hatchalong! I also have two black mottled boys, but just not got pics yet. This is Myles... he is just under 2 months old (was about 6 weeks old in this photo)
You hatched him from my eggs very cute. I was wondering what the blues were turning out to look like, thanks for posting

I don't think the feet on that bird are bare, my cochins have maybe a little more but I suppose it depends on the breeder. Here is a pic of mine, which looks very similar to that one. The breeder loved her coloring and almost kept her, but I got lucky and got her :)

I finally got to see a couple full grown d'uccles at the fair. First time since I got mine and I couldn't remember how big they get. Mine are well on their way! I think mine are nicer than a couple I saw.

I've never had Millies that develop the way your top ones are..... *shrugs*. But the bottom chicks are Mille fleurs.

I wasn't trying to be rude, sorry if it sounded that way. I just thought this was a purebred d'uccle thread. The person said they were "lucky" to get the bird and I was curious as to why they wanted a mix so bad because there's not much you can do with them if you are looking to breed d'uccles. Then I kept seeing more and more pics of this cochin mixed bird. I was just expressing my opinion. I thought the goal of this thread was to perfect the breed, share photos of our pure-bred d'uccles, and ask for advice from time to time on certain subjects.

Sorry if I ruffled any feathers.

I believe one of the pics was of a different owner that was showing what a bantam Cochin looked like (as an example)to tell the other poster they may have a batty Cochin...
I could be wrong...
oh well...
I have a gorgeous self blue d'uccle x LF Sumatra! Stunning!
This breed makes beautiful crosses!
I only cross because my roos mate died and her under study has yet to mature....
Gomez is over our flock of 20+ layer hens!
