D'uccle Thread

my project is Tolbunt d'Uccle. I have my f1's - Mille d'Uccle x Silver Sebrite, both ways. Kept the ones with the best laceing (starting with color first, then will breed back to standard) to breed back together this fall for my f2's. Maybe in a few years I will have something salable.

Any one have any suggestions on what color to breed back to when I am getting back to standard? I am thinking more mille. I sold off my mille's to someone who wants to show, since these had been in the show ring prior and done well. I want to intro new blood anyway so I don't get inbred.

cutie !

Two of my roos decided they wanted to peek in
the study window .....

I've got too many roos ... if anyone wants a few - just let me know. They are about 5 months old, curious, friendly and healthy.

On the polish thread, you can breed tolbunt to gold lace.

I currently have my black roo over my self-blues for the same reason; just wasn't happy with them.
Feather quality is good, and hen color is good, but the roosters just didn't have the color quality I am looking for.

After years of getting rid of roosters with feather ticking because they don't show well, I had an old-timer tell me that they bred the best color on roosters to show. Figures

would you be willing to sell eggs later this year when it cools off a bit?

I have a color genetics question. So I bred my Lavender hens with one of my Mille Fleur roosters. The chicks came out black with a kinda red brown color on them. so they would all be split to Lavender and Pied/Mottled?And since it takes two copies to make a visual, if I bred my birds back to the Mille Fleur and to the Lavender I would get more Mille Fleur and Lavender and some more splits?
Thanks for any help.:D
