D'uccle Thread

Lorilyn Farms, I can't even handle the last picture that you posted of that adorable chick. It might be the cutest thing I have ever seen. Pretty much I have to squeeze one of my pets when I look at it to relieve the "must cuddle" urge i gett! What does it look like now?

She looks like a dove, very pale. This is her sister.

Here she is.

This is one of the bright yellows I am striving for. This picture doesn't do him justice. He is extremely bright yellow, the none fading kind. in fact, most of my lemon d'uccle are the non-fading kind. I hate it when buffs fade....

Of course, I still have to get back to d'uccle standards. These are crosses to bring in the duns and lemons.

I do only the D'uccle for show. Everything else is just a backyard chicken for egg production for my neighbors. I do have a color project going. it's bringing the lemon coloration to the d'uccles. Here is the color I'm striving for, and what is currently in the d'uccles at present. The bright yellow roo is a 1st gen cross, so it needs to go back a few more times to get my d'uccles back to SOP. But here they are.

these are badly faded buffs, all breeds. I'm trying for a non-fading buff, as well as the lemon.

this is a beautiful, non-fading buff.

This is the lemon factor...

lemon roo with faded buff

all lemons, with a silver dun

more lemons with the non fading color. The light one isn't faded, just has a high degree of white mixed in. t\This is him as a baby, very bright yellow, even as a chick!

more comparisons

my lemons with reg mille fleurs.

My porcelain pair had babies about 3 1/2 weeks ago and so far they are shaping up with much promise. I've been remiss with pics but my batteries are dead :( Toe feathers are good even to the middle toe, and they are rediculously huge! So far no red in the combs...... So waiting to see how the markings come in.

I hatched out a batch of d'uccle a couple months ago and ended up with 5 porcelain and one gold neck. Only one roo hatched and he is porcelain. What color do I get if I hatch these twos chicks?

A mix. Porcelain is like a lavender Mille and Gold necks are similar to Mottled's could be cute though
Figured that it would be a mix color. I'll try to find her a boyfriend over the nex few months. Anyone in Ohio raise gold neck d'uccle and have a Juvie roo a few months old?
