D'uccle Thread

I could get them for free because they are roos, but I have a limit on birds I can get and I need a decent show-er, I already have quite a few birds and my mother does not want many more. Thanks though <3

Well, in that case, I would go for it. Maybe your mom will fall in love with them, d'UCCLES are very sweet. Good luck :)

Out of curiosity do any of you know a D'uccle breeder named, Doddie Truedson. The owner supposedly got the eggs from them.

Nope, I only know one d'UCCLE Breeder so far and he breeds Millie's, but I am pretty sure that those will turn into nice males, but perhaps you should do some extra research on Porclein d'UCCLES, it might help you determine if they're good enough :)

DE will be no help in an infestation. The bath will help, but will not kill all the lice or any of their eggs. You will need to keep bathing him, probably at least every three days to eventually get them all. A cat flea/tick shampoo or ivermectin would be better more lasting choices, although I do understand that you are concerned that he is too weak for that now. So maybe give him a few days of regular baths and then use a product.

You do realize what golden neck is, don't you? It's mille fleur plus dominant white or splash (to replace black with white), turning the bird into a golden bird with white mottles. They were APA recognized in 1996; not sure what year ABA recognized them.

Here are some photos of nice golden necks:

Argh!! My millies have sprouted very loooong footfeathers, and now are molting! Gersh! If only they had had those during the fair... sigh....

Also, just the other day when I purchased a few hens, the lady I bought from had a very nice d'Uccle rooster. He was gorgeous! NO, wattles AT ALL. And, he wasn't mille fleur, but he had those rich golden/red feathers and a black tail. NO white. He looked like he could be a red Columbian.

I've made plans (in my own head) to go pick him up once my additional coop is finished.
