Hi everyone I am planning on getting two or one d'uccle chick in June this year. I'm am wondering what to expect. I have two silkies a black and a grey. I also have a silkie jap cross and a Americana jap cross and the crosses pick on the silkies and they are in separate cages. And If I get a d'uccle chick I don't want it to get hurt. Do you think maybe one of the silkies could mother the chick or chicks :D what is this breed like will they pick on the silkies when they are older :/

d'uccles are usually very sweet but every individual is different. The silkies would probably mother them.

Oh ok but do you think they can go in with them they wouldn't hurt a fly and have been broody before :) is there a reason why you think that they wouldn't mother them

I kept my Silkie and d'Uccle together with no problems. I separated them to breeding pens and the d'Uccle go to the Silkie and talk through the fence.
