D'uccle Thread

One of my Mille Fleur d'Uccles laid her first egg a few weeks ago. She was just a little over four months! I don't think I've ever had a chicken lay so early before. Even my Leghorn didn't lay that early! Usually my d'Uccles have started laying at about 8 to 9 months, but this hen started laying in about half the time! I'm pretty happy about that.

I have a d'uccle hen that is well over a year old. Definitely a hen, but never an egg. She has problems so I never expected to get one anyways.

Oh, okay. That's kinda how my Porcelains are.
What color should the Mille Fleur eggs be? My girls are still a month away from laying, I think....
They are a white color, sometimes a little brown.

Is this accepted coloring for Mille? Specifically the back beards, tails...

Had to share this pic.......This little bad boy was hatched June 21, and he is crowing and strutting around like a BIG boy.
His mama is a Calico Cochin and his daddy is a MF D'Uccle. NOT a planned thing...and he is the only chick from the hatch to appear NOT purebred Cochin.
Ever hear of a hen laying eggs from 2 different roos in one clutch? Sure it's possible but weird!
The D'Uccle roo was removed [ or so I thought} before he bred

I think I love him!
