D'uccle Thread

I have a mille Fluer D'uccle bantam. She is six and a half months old. I was wondering when do they typically lay eggs? Thank you for any thoughts or responses.

My mille's just started laying again. i have been getting 9 eggs a week from 2 mille's in the winter, they did stop for the week and a half cold snap we had though(-24 with windchill)

I'm defiantly getting some if I get chicks this year. No doubt about it. But I may want a incubator because they aren't good broodies and I want to breed them.

I do want to know a few more things about them. Like, are they rare? What's the usual price for a four month old d'Uccle? Are they good with crested breeds?

I keep reading that they aren't good broodies, but my hen hatched two clutches last year, and is great with the chicks. The rooster was, too. He would cover them while she was eating

Mine two hatched out two clutches 5 and 6 chicks from each. i also have 2 hens and i cant be sure who did the egg making and who was sitting at what time.

Cool! I could really use another silkie, I only have one but people are just like "You have some Sultans? I want some!" I have to give someone six plus a few more for free and then another lady wants two full grown ones.

Mine are constantly broody all summer. They are good mamas too, and great around chicks!

My d'Uccle will match my silkies for broodiness and commitment to hatch
