She's almost 8 months. How old is she? Because it's winter it may take her longer than normal to start laying.
She's almost 8 months.
Curly , the black cochin is almost four months. She refuses to perch!!! Always laying in nest !! I put her on perch 2-3 times a day. I think she may have broody blood.
Chicken Little is always perched I'm yet to see her in the laying box. Boy, out of all my hens she is by far the smartest ! She's still tiny! Will she get much bigger? She can't be more then 8-10 ounces. She still fits in one hand. She doesn't crouch either. We had a bantam Roo with her and she refused to mate with him. He has a new home now. Was causing curly to much stress. Not Chicken Little, I swear she beat him up cause he wouldn't go near her.

Man, bad luck, I guess? Some just aren't fit for it, I have found out.
No she should be about full gown. Small bantams and mine lay very small eggs...though not as small as frizzle cochins i have seen. i get frizzle cochin eggs to incubate and there are white eggs that are smaller then my mille's and then tan/brown eggs that are bigger then my mille's.

None of my bantams seem to want to perch full time. When they do perch they are wedged between the LF lmao. LF....banty.....LF.....banty![]()
i think they figured out how to stay warm, when they are not wedging between LF they all go pile into ONE nest box or into the ducks water tub if it is dry. The ducks dont get water in the tub full time because of it freezing and being so very cold here unexspectedly.
I will get some photos later of my girls, one is super lazy, staying on the perch while the other is a show girl always looking for treats
here are some of mine from about 5 hens that are laying right now, i dont know what the others produce. one lays a really tinted egg reliablly, most are between white and a 'tan'By curiosity will someone please post a picture of their Mille Fleur d'uccle bantam eggs? I don't have my mille for eggs. I just am in love with her. Just curious.
