my d'uccles!!!

You know it's strange because they are bantams but they seem to open mouth breathe more than my LF in the 90 degree heat. But they act fine and I just make sure they have plenty of shade, water, give them watermelon in the heat of the day and sometimes a frozen 2 liter of water. I'm in Fl and haven't lost one yet to the heat! You should go for it! They are soooooo sweet and gorgeous!

Oh lol...you're in fl too!

I need to try and get current pics of them

I was told they resemble a gold necked d'uccle the most. Obviously I am not expected excellent quality from hatchery stock, but I bet they will be beautiful pets!

I hatched some D'Uccles 4 weeks ago. I got 2 mille and the rest are porcelain. The roo is a mille and the hens are porcelain. I wasn't expecting any milles from these, but surprise.

Can you tell the sex at 4 weeks? One or two really like they may be roos but I'm not sure on some of the others. I'll take some pics and post them later.

I love my D'Uccles, the sweetest birds ever. Sweeter than most of my silkies actually.

I have a buff mottled hen with 4 yellow & 1 lavender chick.
I have 3 MF hens sharing care of 12 MF chicks.
I have a lavender hen with at least 2 chicks under her so far.
I have 2 more lavender hens still setting on nests.
I have 5 MF and 4 lavender chicks in a brooder.
I have 2 GN & 2 butterscotch pullets and a butterscotch cockeral.

I am becoming overrun with d'Uccles! I love it!!

bethandjoeync, I love your creamy babies! Take pics when they get a little older!!

Shannon's Chix, if I were picking between your MF cockerals I would pick #2 (the one with less black). I show my birds though. If you're keeping them for pets, go with the one with the best personality.

The two chicks from my half d'Uccle hen are looking like they're roosters, darn. I won't be able to keep them. But on the bright side, of the five pure d'Uccle chicks from the hatching eggs we bought, only one is showing signs of being a rooster, with one maybe. So we'll definitely be able to keep some of our d'Uccles. Hooray!

I just love seeing everyone's d'uccle pics!

I knew there was a reason I'm addicted, you just can't help but love them!

My incubator is turned off now for the rest of the year, and I'm taking my extra cockerels to a swap meet tomorrow, along with one or two hens. I'm only keeping one young cockerel with all the desired traits, who also just happens to be the most pettable! The rest are going to find new homes!

Now, maybe by fall I'll have enough grown Milles to put them in their own coop
