Sounds great. Prob a lot warmer down that way too! Wishing you lots of luck.
Oh, BTW, I resent your PM LOL! Apparently I sent it to Christines hubby (soooo embarassed
) the first time, my mind is failing me today. Sheesh
Hey all. If I can help at all with stuff about the show please let me know. I am friends with the show super and live about an hour from the show site. I will check on the sales space question.

Whew! For a minute there I thought you meant you resent my PM, then realized you meant sent it again. I thought, "Whadid I say????!!!"
As far as warmth goes, I can't count on anything this winter!!!
All the folks that whined about summer are now getting their just desserts. In the meantime, I'd have settled for some normal December weather, and am hoping Jan & Feb are a tad mild to balance things out!! But I'm not counting on it.
Hi all! Been reading along and thought I'd chime in too. My favorites are the golden-neck d'Uccles. Will post pics when we get some sunshine.
Mrs. Fluffy Puffy - - Your roo looks like a lemon mille fleur (p. 124). ?? Has anyone heard of this color in the States? I have only seen pics of European birds. I would LOVE to hear from someone in the US getting together a good line of lemons. They are gorgeous!
I cannot find the original post regarding the upcoming show that is being discussed. Would someone mind re-posting this info?
And finally . . . for those of you who are showing, how on earth are you preserving the foot feathers of your show birds? I am getting ready to trim my boy's foot feathers, since they are just getting trashed . . .
Thanks for all the great info on this thread! Very helpful.
Porcelains are my favorite color in the little birds and I plan to hatch some porcelain D'Anvers in spring, along with some standard barred and blue Rocks and Ameraucanas. Do any of you who have D'Uccles also have D'Anvers? Just wondering if you can compare them for me, if you do have both. I've heard that D'Anver roosters are more feisty overall than D'Uccle roosters.
Adding a couple pics (in good light). Next to the tank sized blue Del cross baby, the two darkest D'Uccles seem blue to me. Am I seeing things?
Doug in Can, myself and a couple others are raising/breeding/projecting the Lemons with great success, so there should be a few choices to work with
As far as foot feathers go, mine tend to look best during winter into early summer (which is when we show most) but the rest of the year I let them free-range and feathers still arent really a huge issue, for me anyway. I keep the grass in pens short, but not down to pure dirt. During winter months they are cooped inside a heated building with adiquate space to help the feathers regrow from previous months. Hope this helps some.
Cynthia, I can probably help you locate some Porc eggs to work with if your interested ?? You've spoke with Aubrey by now I'm sure. Is that where your babies will be coming from? I'm just curious. Will this be your first try with the belg dan's?? Neat birds, I just like my featherleg birds best ... biast I KNOW
Yes, I'm on the top of Aubrey's list for Porcelain Dans.
I used to know Jackson County, GA very well--almost bought a house out there years ago. Did try it and the inspection didn't go that well, so we ended up in a different county, then later, moved up here to the mtns.

Cyn, I raised both for many years, and like them just as well as the other. However, I'm smitten with the featherfoot variety. They do have a tendancy, in my exp, to be a tad more flighty than Duccles. With that said, they are also equally nice, and trainable as any D could be. I loved mine, but then again, the featherfooting is what I selected over the Dan's
Your babies DO look to be blue, which is what I originally thought on the one, but now possibly 2 or all 3. Keep posting pics, lol, we love them!
