Well, the tooth needs a root canal and I'm holding off till my insurance kicks in Feb 1. He gave me antibiotics and pain meds so maybe when the infection is gone, the pain won't be so bad and I'll be able to wait. I have to drive an hour and a half to get to a dentist who takes this insurance since I live in the boonies. It's snowing again today, darn it! Can't even see my babies out there in the Firetower.

Sunshine and double digit temps up here in Maine today (ok, so my other half said double digit numbers, I say 10, 20 and his reply is that 90 is a double digit number too... *giggle*) Sorry your having to deal with our kind of weather, but I'm not completely sorry! LOL

GC, the eggs are at the post office. The mail lady didn't bring them out with her

The weather is bad and if we wenre't home she didn't want them bounced and cold.
DH was in the driveway when she came, and knew I wouldn't want them to sit, but the PO is closed.
So she's making a special trip after her shift to bring them to me!

So I'm off to bake cookies and make a nice thank-you card for her....

I found a D' cockerel, show stock from one of the judges that will be at the 38th poultry congress show in Mass next weekend. I am so excited!!!

DH looked in on the little ones with Nugget, specifically looking for signs of pink combs, and he said there's no sign of that on the D'Uccles. They're 3 weeks old, so I think I'd see some color popping in within a few days, wouldn't I?

Lori, Midas got 1st and BV today at the show. Not a surprise since he was the only GN there, but I'll take it anyway.

Cyn, sounds like you are a good bantam picker and got all girls. Lucky you!!! Hope you tooth feels better soon.

My eggs have been resting since 4pm when the mail lady brought them (and got her box of cookies). I also gave her a thank-you a card on a card I got in OH. It had pictures of a mf hen on it.

I'll load the eggs up before I go to bed. And candle the 6 in there from Orion's pen.
I also put in 6 old millie eggs, but won't candle those until next Saturday. I don't hold out much hope for them, but wanted to see if they were viable just for the heck of it.


Cyn, take the antibiotics religiously. A dentist told me once that the novacaine won't work if there's an infection present. you don't want that!
