D'uccle Thread

Carolyn, glad the eggs arrived safe and sound, please PM me when you candle them so I know how well they did during THIS trip. Thank GAWD it only took 4 days and not 2 darn weeks!

Doug, Big Congrats! I bet your just tickled to finally get some eggs after such a long depressing wait. I have my entire body

Cynthia, that's awesome news about your new Aubrey babies

Thats fantastic for shipped eggs, Aubrey always packs then tight and very well. Beau is a reall sweetie, I love it when they first learn they have "a voice"...it can be funny at times too, but definately cute.

How are your little girls doing...I read up a bit and the one little doll seems to be a bit bold and mischievous. Loved the pics of her in the feeder, to cute!

Spook, your birds are just gorgeous Lady. Humfrey LeCock is a very handsome little man, and I love the baby peeking out from under mommy Ruthie...just precious! When you get tired of them (and Im SURE you will

) just pack their bags and send em on down my way < heehee, evil grin >

WGC, I'll be pm'ing you after while, just a heads up.

Cetawin, Congrats on your eggies, keep us all posted.

Well I'll shut up now (Im sure 'some' of you are thankful for that, ha!) and get my rear back to work sorting birds and taking pics. I just wanted to stop in, say hello to everyone and try to catch up a bit. Take care, wishing you all a wonderful day!

I have unfortunately decided to sell my trio of D'Uccles. I'm not sure how much to ask for them. Anyone want to make some recommendations? Anyone interested in buying them?

Aurora they are adorable. Well as they are mixed variety I think 25.00 - 40.00 bucks is reasonable and fair. How old are they and so forth matters too.

I would LOVE to get my hands on your trio, too bad we don't live closer! I personally would easily pay 30$ for the trio, if they are between 1-2 years old I'd be willing to pay 40$ so that should give you a good idea on how to price them out.

They are gorgeous and I'm sorry you have decided to part with them, they are such wonderful gorgeous birds.

check this out you guys, want to guess how old this chick is? I call it ODDBALL

PICT1147.jpg

wait for it...it is nearly 4 weeks old. all the rest of my chicks are 3/4 of the way feathered out, and this little thing? Doesnt even look a week old though it is the same size as everyone else. what else is odd it almost looks like its feathering in silkied textured feathers...LOL

I saw some baby D'uccle's at me feed store and I was sooo tempted to buy some but I really can't add any more chickens to my flock. I walked away very sadly

ScaredOfShadows that baby looks like he has lavender in his genetic make-up. That can cause really slow feathering.

In some combos it can cause feathers to stop growing completely. That would be a very bad thing, since the little buggers usually die before adulthood. (Mine did, after a porcelain x lavender breeding)
