LOL, your hopless at this point...the dooting, waiting, ect...DAMAGE IS DONE CP! U R N Luv. Yes, some of mine hatch 20days, so just keep an eye out and good luck lady!

Do you guys find that your Duccles are Territorial? My three are ganging up on my dutch hen I just moved in with them. The dutch lived on the 'other side of the fence' since nonmember but they still torment her and chase her around.

They should settle down right?

Hey Teddi,
Just thought I let you know, locked down 9 of your egss, last night and less then 24 hrs later I have 2 chicks hatched and they look like millie's, and four more pipped. Glad I don't have to work tomorrow, its going to be a noisy night, looks likes. 5 Marans eggs also (one ifie) I don't expect them till wednesday. They were all set on the same day. Why would the D'Uccles hatch early. Some had what appeared to have misshaped air cells. Do you think that could be a cause? They are definitely not weak, VERY vocal. I always seem to miss the hatch, maybe if I stay up all night watching I won't miss it.

I always put mine in lockdown on day 18 for this reason. I don't know if it's a d'uccle thing or a Missouri d'uccle thing. I had a broody with nest confusion and had to throw 6 eggs in the incubator. 3 have hatched, 1 I pitched, and the other two still have movement inside. I am amazed any of them hatched considering I came home to cold eggs in 40 degree weather. The first time I put her back on the right nest, the second time I shook my head and plugged the incubator back in.

So I put my two handicapped chicks in with the newly hatched ones to teach them to eat & drink.

I believe it was either good Friday or the day before.

It's a good thing, too. Lucky has only had one girl in with him, and he was chasing me yesterday. I turned to see if he needed a lesson in manners and he started dancing for my sneaker....

Due to mf/lav genes in Lucky, I think you could put him with your porcelains and maybe get some interesting combos....

I'll have self-blues later in the year, if everything continues to go according to plan.
Judging from the toes on the current hatchlings, I should have some nice SQ genes in there, too
