Yes, I totally LOVE my Porcelain d'uccles. It was pure fluke when I impulsively bought them from the feed store and found out what breed they were and how adorable and sweet. They are from Estes Hatchery mixed bantams. This is definitely the breed I'm sticking with. I bought some hatching eggs from ugly duckly and am getting some really pretty coloring from them. I bought a bunch from Ideal, but I'm not as impressed with their smaller beards and skimpy middle toe feathering. They are not as calm as ugly duckly or Estes's d'uccles. So, I probably will be selling all but the 5 straight run Millies and 5 porcelain pullets. I'll have about 6 cockerels and 3 pullets with that I'll be posting for sale later. I thought I'd wait till they were a few more weeks old.

I think in the spring, I'll visit the feed store and see if I can get a few more Estes d'uccles, as pretty as they are turning out to be. This is the breed I'm going to promote as the perfect chicken for children! I'm thankful that I don't have to chase this breed all over the yard if I want to pick them up and pet them, they are fairly easy to catch. They are really good flyers, and can fly 7 feet up in the air. I had to put welded wire fencing on top of my chain link to make it high enough to keep them out of the neighbors yard. I think next spring I might try ordering some porcelain d'uccle hatching eggs from my pet chicken and see how they turn out, plus a few more mille pullets. The breeders I've seen online, just aren't selling much these days unless you want to pay $10 a chick!

My first porcelain pullet finally started laying at 7 months old! Can't wait to start hatching my own cuties, but I think I'll wait till spring, since I already have 2 dozen in the garage. Here's mine from Adults to chicks!

This Weekend / Monday is hatch time for the first batch of Lavender improvement project chicks.
I will see how they grow out.

My Self blue D'Uccle chicks that I ordered came in this morning, what do you think? I also have Porcelain D'Uccle cross chicks due to hatch on Saturday. over Run in D'Uccle babies right now but my luck most of them will be Roos! Please excuse me some of my blue sikies that came in the order may have slipped in the pic, my son was messing with them while daughter tried to keep them in one spot.

my self blue rooster is almost a year old and has developed coloration in his saddles and hackles

i'm still gonna breed him and see what i get just whish the coloration hadnt developed though...

Has he been in the sun? Maybe that caused the yellowing.
Or are you talking about the darker speckling? I haven't seen many without that....

What color D'uccles did I get in my Ideal order?
I THINK I see 1 White, 1 Golden Neck, 2 Porcelain, 2 Brown Reds, and the last 4 I am not sure if they are Buff Columbian, Mille Fleur, or Blue Mille Fleur

The last four (maybe not the far right one with obvious stripes?) look like Mille Fleur to me, but I am new to the chick colors.

I just got some kiddos from Ideal too, you do have 2 brown red, 1 white, 1 Golden neck, 2 porcelain, 3 mille Fleur and the little one with stripes I am thinking will be a Buff Columbian. My babies that have the stripes like your little one are feathering in buff. You will have to see how they start feathering in.

So here is Aunry the one that a couple BYCers said looked like a Blue Mille. what are your thoughts now?
and here is a very recent pic of his brother buff man, taken by new owner to show me what he looks like now.


They have the same dad (Porcelain D'Uccle), I only have two gals they could have come from my White D'Uccle who carries the mottling gene, and my golden neck D'Uccle. who do you think is their momma and I don't see the blue in buff man like I do Aunry! Suggestions on coloring?
