D'uccle Thread

It depends on your area and show quality.
SQ self-blues are rare, especially in my area. Hard to part with, too! Millies are a tad more common.

At Crossroads, d'Uccles of all colors were going for $25 a pair or more. These were mature birds, ready to breed.
I ask $5 each per chick, up to about 3 weeks old. After that, it depeds on show quality.

Not sure about booted bantams....

I think maybe I need to lower my price and take my loss for not knowing... she didn't either I don't think.

I paid $12 well traded for chicks equivalent to $12 anyway. They are milles...

Wow you paid $12/chick? There's an ad on Craigslist here...someone in Tampa is selling a pair for $125!!! Here's the link in case you want to see for yourself. http://tampa.craigslist.org/hil/grd/2882190078.html

Oh, and the person on Ebay selling the false d'uccles emailed me back with the same exact email he sent to someone else on here who had posted and he insisted they were d'uccles and added "However, we have had several emails with your same type of information therefore we be de-listing them until we can find out the right breed to list them under. As we stated earlier, we deal with turkeys and are not experts in bantams. Thank you for your input."
I checked again on Ebay now there's someone selling mille fleur booted bantam eggs as d'uccle eggs.

I wish people would familiarize themselves with the breed of chicken they own! Oh my.

Are Porcelain D'Uccles rare and hard to find in the Houston area?

no they arent they are the 2nd most popular color for d'uccles with the mille fluer being the most popular. if your looking at getting from a hatchery ideal is in texas if a breeder then check out the breeders list i have. i do have to do an update on that list to

i would take her to a few shows and see were she stands with the others who are showing its hard to judge by a pic alone but remember each judge is different and they may have different opions on the SOP

Chicken math struck me today for the first time! Went to pick up my Easter egger chicks and was offered a 10 week old d'Uccle as well.
She's adorable and is quickly becoming my favorite. I started two weeks ago with two 8wk old Cochins and somehow now have 5 chickens

loving it!
