D'uccle Thread

The size of the comb is larger than a lot of my pullets' combs have been, but with no color I would say pullet. Either way, pretty bird!

Thank you. I thought it was really nice too. It's feather on its feet are just wonderful. I should have taken a better phoo, but it was kinda scared.

I put up a want ad on my local craigslist and had somebody contact me with a d'uccle hen. Excitedly waiting on pictures and more info. I am not even really sure what to ask when looking at getting another mature hen. I asked age, and if she was easy to handle. Anything else?

Also, what is the best way to introduce two hens? Mine has been cooped up for the past week and I let her out today (hoping that I won't have to get her out of a tree tonight). I would like my hens to be free range if possible.

A lot of my adult hens have pretty large red combs, so I have no clue what my babies will be. Do judges really dislike bigger combs on hens? Thebutress, those feet are cute! One of mine is like that too, but not the others, I wonder if heavy foot feathers can indicate sex too?

Fairlea, I was wondering the same about the feet feathers. Maybe it's a male thing? I hope it's female, but...so far having been having much luck!
