Sorry to hear. Do you, by any chance, add heat in the winter?

I don't add heat, but they are in a pretty warm outbuilding with ventilation but no drafts. It hasn't been cold yet here, only a couple of frosts so I hope things don't go downhill once the real winter hits The good news is my little hen is acting totally normal except for that ridiculous sounding cough. Last time this ran through I had one blue mottled that coughed for weeks but ended up totally fine. I'm hoping for the best, this little hen is so cute. Super neurotic, but cute. Her cochin buddies she was raised with really miss her and try to sneak out the pen and get near her isolation cage whenever they can. I may switch from the Gallimycin to Tylan if i don't get a resolution to her coughing soon.

Thanks for the advice, I will be grabbing some Tylan in the next few days. I think my roo died because I waiting to long to treat and it did go to his lungs, but hopefully there's still time for my hen. She's not getting worse and is still her normal hyper self. No facial swelling either, but i did get that last year. ironically it was this hen's mom that got really sick last year, but she made it and is great now.

I hope I'm doing this correctly. I'm really new.
I really need to find a new home for my sweet baby mille fleur d'uccles roo. I do have a sweet pullet as well. They are super attached so I would rehome them together if it was a make it or break it deal. (selfishly I would love to keep her "Little Girl" is her name) I simply don't want them to end up as dinner or him to be a fighter. Our HOA won't allow roos I am In ventura county (93065) CA. He/they are about 16 weeks now and very mellow and sweet...but Little Man (the roo) is super loud for a tiny guy and seems not to have his days and nights figured out just yet (he will crow over and over reguardless of the time of day, sounds like a mini trumpet-so cute!!) Please help!! I have just a couple days to find him/them a new home Thank you ~ Jen

Hahaha. I live really close to you. Wish I could take them, although I probably won't be able to keep the roo. *Sigh* I'm having a wannabee chicken math right now LOL.

The only other thing that comes to mind is worms, there is one that makes them cough funny, can't remember offhand but i have links if that is a possibility. Foamy eye definitely equals MG, though.

Chickens can eat cranberries too, and cranberries are awsome for fighting e coli. Just the right time of year, too Remember, it's usually the secondary infection that kills with MG.

I'm really sorry you lost your pretty roo

when breeding blues do u get splash and black like with many other breeds just got my girst trio of blues and cant find any imformation on it.also are millie fleurs suppoesd to be sex linked with very selective breeding i started to get sex linked and thats all i get now im happy i can spot roos the first day though

I would love them they look like bantams and we have 6 bantams and I show them at the fair. I Would love to have them we have a heated coop with insulation big run out in the coop and run with my chickens every day even it the winter and I keep them in a fenced run but i let them free range most every day if you still have them and looking for a home please replay back as soon as possible.
