I've got serveral different colors of D'uccles. Mille Fleur, Porcelain, Self Blue, Mahogany, and Blue Mille Fleur. The Blue Mille Fleur and Mahogany, I bought from someone a few months ago. Does anyone know how a Blue Mille Fleur is produced? Just wondering?

Have you bred your blue mille fleur? I am assuming that they will produce splash and "regular" (black) mille fleur at the same rate as other blue birds. I'm dying to know what a splash mille fleur looks like!

No, I haven't bred her yet. I just have the one blue mille fleur hen. What would you breed her to in order to maybe get a splash, or another blue, for that matter?

As I understand it, blue mf + regular mf = 1/2 regular mf, 1/2 blue mf

blue mf + blue mf = 1/4 regular mf, 1/2 blue mf, 1/4 splash mf

Good to know. I have the perfect roo to put her with. He's a pretty mille fleur. I wonder what would happen if I put her with the mahogany roo. Half and half??

I've heard alot about the roosters being aggressive and I read something about the breed being flighty on here somewhere. (being flogged by these little guys is probably like having a throw pillow hit your shin, LOL). In comparing the D'uccles to the bantam Cochins, which would you say is a calmer, more generally friendly bird, of course, allowing for individual differences within a breed?

Also, do any other bantams come in this lovely porcelain color?

I can't compare to a silkie, but all three of my girls have gone broody this year. (my two BO"s also went broody - one TWICE)
Rooster's crow is cute, not overly loud, our neighbors can't hear him, they're not righ ton our doorstep either, would take 5 minutes or so to walk to their house)

My rooster is a SNOT - he has jumped on my kids a few times, he does let me pick him up - but he's never really thrilled with that idea. He eats out of my hand, if I have GOOD stuff.

I must also add I got my D'Uccles when they were almost of laying age - so I didn't handle them and they weren't handled when babies.
