hey, I have three Indian runner ducks (one male and two females) the smallest girl started limping and it got worse so we separated her and brought her inside in a large hutch to let her rest, it had been almost a week and I came back from work and she had pecked at her feathers and it revealed a large abscess - we took her to the vets (specialising in avian care) and the vet popped it gave her antibiotics and pain relief and said to keep her separate but she’s SOO AWFULLY LONELY AND DEPRESSED and I can’t bare it- has anyone got advice for quick healing or to cheer her up/
Give her something to do since she’s all alone- will it help to let her out in the garden for a bit before I let the other chickens and ducks out or let the other two ducks see her but can’t get to her through the hutch? ADVICE PLEASE

So sorry to hear about your duck, hope she heals soon. Maybe put a stuffed animal in with her so she has something to cuddle with, I'm not sure about letting her out in the garden until she starts healing, I would worry about her wound getting infected.
