@KaleIAm Aww, that is so hearbreaking. I'm so sorry to hear it. I know what it's like. I'm still not over my dog Lucy's death 5 years ago. It's heartbreaking when the ones we love are suffering. From my one meeting with Rye I remember how unbelievably well behaved, sweet, and friendly he was. He must hold a huge place in your heart. I will keep him in my prayers and that the chemo gives you an extra year together. Don't think about this now, because I'm sure you have a lot more time with him, but I did contact two local vets today who make house calls. I think if Puddles continues to go downhill I am going to go that route. It's not cheap, but worth it to have our beloved pets as comfortable as possible. You are in my prayers - I know you've had one thing after another with all your sweet animals. Hugs, C

Sorry I couldn't get any photos of Pigweed's fancy new feathers today. I was waiting for a call from my dog's vet all day and we don't have great reception outside. So I stayed in staring at my phone. The ducks are probably bitter about how they missed out on their foraging walk today. They have an amazing aviary, but they are pretty entitled.

@CoriM Rye is doing worse. My poor dog. We're hospitalizing him overnight and miraculously they are able to start him on chemotherapy treatment tonight. After they start chemo they can start steroids, which should help his symptoms. I hope it gives him some relief. If he doesn't feel better soon we'll say goodbye.

@HeatherKellyB Yes, he can go into remission for a year - and that's what we are hoping for!!
I'm sorry. What stage is your dog in? Will he be on chemo that you're able to do at home or will he have to go in for his treatments? I know some of the really strong chemo treatments have to be administered in the hospital. Either way, I sure hate that you're having to go through this. How old is he? I'd love to see pics of Pigweed, but there's no rush 😍

He's stage 5 - but apparently the chemo can still be a success and give him a year. We have to go in for treatments.

My dog, Rye, is about 10-11 years old. He's the best boy. He guards the ducks. Ignores the cats. And lives to be a good boy.

Both of the chubs in one pic 😍 I needed this! Today has been an emotional day. I lost my favorite rooster, who's death was due to my negligence and on the other side of things, my Dad finally got the call that a kidney has come available for him after 7 years of dialysis. He was rolled back to the OR at 5:30pm for what's predicted to be at least a 5 hour surgery. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for some sweet adorable pictures.
