Love my ducks, but those geese!!

I feel the same way. It's gotten to the point now where if you ask me which were my favorite between them I'm not sure I could choose.

Also, they love to slide around the snow on their little bellies.

First time I saw mine do that I freaked out I thought it was crippled.

Do any of y'all pick ducks up by pinching their wings together over their backs? I've always cradled them or hugged their bodies, and when I catch them I grasp their necks while I begin to hold down their wings.
These ducks were carried only by squeezing their wings over their backs. It looked quite easy, but I don't think I'm comfortable doing it. Is it safe?

I've seen it done every time I have gone to a poultry swap. Makes me cringe.
I might grab them like that for a second if I'm just catching them on the ground.. but I don't lift them that way. I would think that has to hurt!

Gah! This is dumb and why I hate January and February with a passion! Poor duckies. I’m going to have to do something Monday night and Tuesday. Daphne is getting too old for that nonsense. I’m getting too old for that nonsense too.

That’s positively revolting! I get that winter is meant to be cold and I’m fine up until 0 degrees Fahrenheit. However, anything below that is simply bleak.

Sweeter heater? My older girls like theirs. Though I admit it took weeks of putting treats near and then under it for them to accept that it's not actually a scary hover monster but a cozy place. Ducks.

Lol mine do this! I freaked out and thought their feet for too cold! I was in a panic trying to get them back into their house and under a heatlamp.

Mine are digging the snow today also. Yesterday was so cold, they didn’t venture far from their pen where they have a covered area to stay out of the snow.
I also just witnessed a drake mating a hen, and let’s just say his corkscrew dragging through the snow looked very uncomfortable!
