Maybe someday when you’re older you can have your own flock! (And join the duck addicts :gig)

Until then, feel free to join in the conversation, and vicariously experience duck life through everyone’s many ducks!

Uh oh. Now I’m enabling a future generation duck addict…
I’m pretty sure I would like to someday too,I only have 2 lazy adult Rouens and Olivia and Floof. My dream is to expand my flock to 25 once I become older.

With prices rising like they are, I decided to make some changes all around to save money and when it came to the ducks I found good solution and it’s incredibly good for them….

I went to a local grocery store and asked if they ever had any out of date produce that I could pick up. Turns out they actually had been throwing it all in the trash, so they were cool with me coming by every third day and collecting all the old produce from the back room.

I came away with two of these 60 pound containers today, it’s amazing, some of the stuff I would eat. Lol

I then ran it all through a food processor and anything that the ducks can’t eat goes to compost. It’s a little of a hassle, but appears to be worth it, and they are really enjoying it!

My precious snobs would say, "that's not tiny red grape tomatoes carefully quartered... Therefore it must be poison!"

I'm proud of your ducks' adventurous spirit.

They're using the next boxes in the big house!

Frozen thawed. I'm sure canned would be poison, too.
I've only offered my ducks sugar snap peas that I pulled from the pod. I'd harvested them just seconds prior, and my ducks had seen me eating them - a good way to get them to eat new stuff! They were super excited to try the peas. But then every duck spit them out in disgust, turned their back on me, and I had to find them tomatoes to win back their love after my pea betrayal.

I'll try the thawed frozen.

Let us know if they like them!
