Let me correct that. Saxony are the second largest Mallard breed. I don't know how I forgot the Muscovy. Muscovy drakes are huge! I always feel bad for the females being half the size of the drake.
Ya, was kidding bout the muscovy 😉.

I really do hope mine get big and muscular, not fat though. I'm expecting eggs any day now at the rate they're growing.

Sorry I haven’t been on guys! Things have been super hectic! I’ve got a ton of catching up to do but I thought I would share this with you guys. (Sorry not a duck this time) I just hatched a little silkie chick! :ya
Any ideas on color?

Congrats! I love Silkies so much. I only have 2 colors, a pair of white and a pair of blue, but one day I will add more (spoken like a true addict with plans for the long term 😛) . I want a Splash so much. Has the little cutie fluffed up yet? With their black skin, it CAN be difficult to tell their color before they dry. Of course I am not the color expert but there are many experts in the area. I love your little Silkies big eyes! So adorable! Does it have 5 toes on each foot? My most beautiful Silkie only has 4 toes which is an immediate disqualification in any type of show (virtual included) but she's still absolutely gorgeous

@shawluvsbirds don't you have a Call with angel wing? I'm wanting to put Maggie in a run with a kiddie pool, but I'm not sure if she'll be able to get in the pool. I wonder if it'd be better to keep those rubber bowls around for her ease. I've not ever noticed her fly. Even when they do their flapping while jumping up and down, she gets off the ground but I suspect it's more jumping that's causing that tiny bit of lift off. Will I still need to clip her wing feathers? I guess I'm most unsure if AW hinders lift or actual flight. Of course then again, I may be way off, which is always a possibility ☺️

Aww, well it sure is a little cutie! I might just add a few more! I’ve got one other egg that just internally pipped. I also have a few that are behind. I’d love to see a picture of your pairs! Splash are beautiful! It hasn’t fluffed up yet but I will check it’s toes and skin when I get home! It’s eyes are huge and melting my heart! I can’t become a chicken addict now too! :lau
