Our latest three ducks are a bit unique compared to our rest. My newest 3 female Saxony have chosen one of my Welsh as their queen. When our Welsh was seperated from the flock and called out, these three came running to her and escorted her to the flock. One took the lead and the other two flanked her on each side. They often try to keep other ducks away so they can't pick on her. Recently they got in between her and my husband when he went to try and take a look at her. Basically my welsh has three bouncers 😆. Any one else had ducks act like this?

Mine just bounce off of each other when they see me, that's all I get over here. No more eating out of my hands either😭

Yeah. It sucks when they are all snuggly as ducklings and then don't want anything to do with you. Like you are so uncool. 😟

It can take them some time for them to rewarm up to you when live outside full time. Mealworms overcome all. All you need is one to eat out of your hand, and the rest will have the fear of missing out.

Yeah, they're just being teenagers right now. I still love to look out my window and see them, even if they don't like to see me. The drakes are getting little bits of slate blue-ish gray feathering in their heads.
