Welcome! What kind of ducks do you have? Do you have any pictures you could share?

I’ve only got 4, although 5 was a better number (RIP Puddles). I resist the pull towards duck addiction mainly as I’m the only one that cleans up after them. 4 or 5 ducks make enough mess to keep me busy! Plus, they spend the coldest part of winter (and nighttime all-year) in the barn. Cleaning in sub-zero temperatures has sub-zero charm.

Yeah. I control my urges to get more to control the amount of duck poop I have to clean up! At this point, ducks will only be added if friends are needed. If something happens to my older Rouen (which it hopefully will not), for example, I will have to get my lil remaining Rouen some Rouen friends!

I have 8 ducks it was 9 but Maria which was one Totoro and Chiharu had hatched, passed away. I don't get more ducks because, one my parents don't want to buy anymore birds. The only way we will add to the flock is if they hatch some on their own. And i like the amount we currently have. I feel like more than 9 would be too much for me... But whenever there is ducklings at Murdoch's i can't help but wish i could get some...

You know you have a problem when you have nightmares about ducks.
I was having a dream this morning that I was doing chores and I kept finding pens full of ducklings that I forgot I had and hadn't been feeding.
Some of them were in poor shape and I was so upset.
Good grief.

I have recently had a lot of nightmares of my ducks being attacked...

I have never in my entire life eaten duck. And never plan on it either. I am okay with eating chicken though. Of course not my chickens. I don't have the heart to eat something i raised.
