Nice! Still patiently waiting for my Khaki, Saxony, and Rouens to lay. My Runners are now up to 6-8 eggs a day, I’m hoping the other girls will start in April.

So does that make her a "duck" now, or does that make the ducks "chickens"?She egg calls for the ducks now.
They sure hide them good, don't they? I'm pretty convinced the Easter Bunny is in fact a duck.Yahoo - found 2 duck eggs buried in one of the nests this morning. They feel frozen so I might chuck these first two and do better searching from now on. Maybe it was the lecture I gave the ducks about how I could easily replace them with chickens since I am getting 9 eggs a day from them.
Cool. I have a chicken who thinks he belongs with the ducks too. Except, mine is a rooster, so I have no chance of getting eggs. In fact he is actually beginning to be a problem, so sadly, I’m thinking he’ll end up at the dinner table. As some of you know (or maybe you don't - but now you do lol) I have one lone chicken left from my flock. Her name is Rona Louise (also goes by Rona Pona). She stopped laying in January when she got sick, and hasn't started back up again yet. Part of me thinks she probably never will again. Anyway, no biggie. She's a pet.

This morning I hear the egg song and it surprises me. I thought no way is she getting ready to lay. No way. Must be a hawk or something out there. I go out there and she's pacing back and forth in front of the duck house. Then it hit me. I peeked in and sure enough, Roxy is preparing to lay.
