I would call them breeder quality just from that pic, but I guess I’m a lot less critical. At least to me, they are both snowy with some good qualities, so their offspring could be quite nice.

Are snowy hens supposed to have light or dark bills? *I* prefer a dark bill (maybe I'm biased because of Lylah) but that hen is adorable! Doesn't your gorgeous light phase snowy have a lighter greyish bill @WVduckchick
@Overo Mare isn't Flip a blue snowy? Everytime I think about snowy Calls, I think back to the picture by @Conan so many gorgeous snowy Calls

Updated the brooder

the toy with strings is actually strips of t shirt- so that it won’t just unravel. It does have beads and fake flowers on it, but I only put it there when I am fully watching them. Mostly they just tug on the fabric. It’s very cute.

also, with this set up, we allowed my service dog to meet them. She’d met them several times through the gate and showed only a mild interest. In fact, when she was in the room with me before, she would fall asleep and not budge when I showed her them! and..

it was perfect. She’s an Angel. After a moment of Watching them with her head tilted she walked over to my dad and just leaned on him for rubs, not even watching the babies lol. She fell asleep beside the brooder after a bit. love my girl so much

final update; here’s their weights so far. Amazing, isn’t it?

I want to clarify, the beads are firmly lodged with several knots. They aren’t able to be grabbed and cracked and that’s why I supervise.

Oh I know! I’m visually impaired and struggle to find its cord when its dark out. unfortunately a lot of overhead lights and white lights trigger migraines I wish my lamp had an on/off switch! I have a reptile lamp that does but I honestly have no idea of it’s watt capacity.

my brother laughed at my “duck toys” at first. I’m convincing him to Join the dark side and spoil his future chicks something fierce!

Cool! I bet they’ll turn out pretty tame with as much care and attention you give them.

i hope so. I’m fairly afraid of seed and hook bill birds, and im admittedly afraid of, well, most birds. I got my ducklings as pets, and I’m hoping they’ll help me worth through this anxiety. They’re super sweet, already. Today they were much more skittish than yesterday, but yesterday was their first day. I don’t mind, after a moment they settle

we watched turning red today, them in a basket with towels and a warm bottle, and they fell asleep on my hands. their nibbles make my heart melt, and as far as I can tell, they’re making it a lot easy to be around birds. I’m really thankful for them.
