First clutch that hatched my ducks sister kind of took over being the mom (abandoning her nest). The ducklings followed her like she was their mother.

This time the same duck hatched 9 ducklings and one of them won’t leave my other ducks side (who is not her mother) even though she is sitting on her own nest.

Is this normal?

This duckling is not hers but she won’t leave her side, ha ha.

That’s precious. Since your scovy is in full broody mode she is not caring if that little one sticks by her but she would feel a lot different if it came around after hatch. If you don’t want it with this girl fix it so it can’t get in to her put the little one with its own mama and sibs hopefully it will bond with them. It needs to be out learning the ropes from mama
