My duck coop
We just recieved this jumbo Pekin duck from some person in our neighborhood who no longer wanted it. She had 4 ducks and they all got attacked. 1 of them got killed while the rest all got injured. I took the 3 ducks in. The 2 Khaki Campbell’s are barely injured and will be fine. But this pekin duck’s leg is all messed up. The poor guy can’t really walk. We gave him food and water and then moved him safely into the coop. We haven’t had him long and so far he hasn’t really moved by himself. Any way we can help him to stand and walk? And how can we help his wound heal. Thanks for any help.

I think the first thing you should do is clean up his wound so you can really see what's going on. Then treat accordingly. Keep him in a quiet place like a little dog kennel with food and water within easy reach.

Once you see what the extent of the injury is we can help further.

Hi, with a pair of scissors can you trim a 3cm circumferential zone around a wound and post another picture? I'd wash it with some saline and apply some chlorhexidine, you can bandage around her leg if possible with some gauze pads soaked in chlorhexidine. She needs to be taken inside where she can't further damage the leg, and where flies can't lay egg's on the wound.
