My Coop
My Coop
First of all, my ducks don't come into the coop at night. They would be welcome if they wanted to, but they choose to stay out. This spot on the fishing dock is where they will congregate. I noticed the chickens picking on them when they came to the coop for food, so I moved a bowl down to the dock with their dogloo. Now I noticed that Jim Bob spends all day sitting next to the food bowl. Any ideas why she is doing this?

Do they sleep next to the coop or by the water? My ducks would rather sleep next to our pond and it took us a while of bringing them in for the night that they decided the coop is where they sleep. If they’re next to the coop because the chickens won’t let them in then you may need a separate coop for them. Not sure what is up with Jim Bob 🤔 does he chase others away when they come to eat? Maybe he is guarding it to keep for himself? She might be protective of it because she had trouble getting to the food before. Or maybe she just decided that’s the perfect place to chill. I wouldn’t might having the fridge next to me all day either 🤷‍♀️

They sleep out on the lake. I have one young Muscovy who sleeps in the coop with the chickens, but the rest have no interest. They might as well be wild ducks except they still want me to feed them.🙂 I have not noticed Jim Bob trying to chase the other ducks away from the food, so maybe you're right, she just likes chilling by the fridge.

I love that name. One of my guinea pigs lays down half the time when she eats 🤷‍♀️ sometimes animals are more lazy then us even!
