They are such beautiful ducks, so neat!
We've never had broody ducks, well once for like a week so not a lot of experience with that behavior.
We did have a duck who was long overdue for a molt and wasn't as waterproof as usual so she would avoid getting in the pool.

She sure does seem like she's trying to wash up.Until she is comfortable getting back in the pool to keep herself clean, I would switch the watererer out to a bucket or some other container that she could dip her whole head in to clean her nares out.
