DUCK BILL MISSING

why are you assuming some random BYC member did not take it upon themselves and do it
Becuase this thread was posted 2 days ago. To call and organization, the organization to inspect the property and the bird's setup, then make the call to take away all of her fowl is not gonna happen in two days. There are steps here, no organization can blindly take away fowl just because someone on the phone said they should. They have to do an inspection, which doesn't happen overnight.

It's a legal thing for animals to be confiscated. Ducks are considered livestock usually, meaning they are property. That wouldn't happen in just a couple of days. And the agencies involved would need evidence. I'm in California. BYC folks are from all over the world. Ain't nobody here able to organize this in a couple of days. The legal wheels must have been in motion already.

My rooster, for example, was complained about to the county. I had 30 days to remedy the situation. Then there was an inspection. The county official said if the rooster was still on the premises at the time of the inspection, I'd have another 60 days before they took any action. That action would have involved a court order and a hearing. Not gonna happen in a couple of days.

But if you want to blame us, go ahead, if that makes you feel better. You are very emotionally invested here, and I am not sure you are thinking clearly. I hope you find some peace.

I wonder if you fell in love with this duck (who could blame you?) and you had your heart set on adopting it. When things didn't happen as you'd hoped, you became upset (again, who could blame you?). You obviously have a big soft spot for ducks. Maybe you could take that energy and adopt/rescue some ducks in need of homes - ones you don't have to fight a legal battle for?

I agree with both of you. I am pretty naive and usually believe most people have good hearts like me and are honest like me. However, my boss is not that way at all.
He says the woman is no doubt lying to get me and my pleas for the billless duck to go away. The thing is I had already left. I offered, she refused, I left. I was trying to come up with an avenue I had not tried short of alienating her completely by coming on here. However, in the meantime, my boss thinks she is just lying. Cause I didn't understand how it could happen that quick either. But I never claimed to be the sharpest knife in the drawer and now that has been publically confirmed.
So you are right, the manager of Kingdom Come Park found it necessary to lie and say all ducks and geese were conficscated because she could not tolerate the thought of somebody wanting to actually save an injured duck. VERY SAD INDEED. Who does stuff like that? That is juvenile behavior.
She said no. I am pretty sure the duck has Wet Feather and have no doubt she will peel its carcass off the frozen ground some morning. But I can't change anything for the injured ducks. She is in control, and I am back home two states away.

I'm just dumb and believed her. But my boss believes she is lying so I will go away. I agree with you, and she probably is lying. I believe it has Wet Feather and i believe it will die, I do love ducks and I hate to see it die. But there is nothing I can do about this situation.

you are right, but in retrospect I think she is just lying like my boss said, lying to me so I will go away. The duck will die, more will be injured and the cycle will go on indefinitely. I on the other hand can do nothing about it. I am home, it is over. I am sure now that the flock will still be there when I return in a month. I still can't do anything about it, but i do believe she is lying. So my apologies for thinking it was someone here, I'm pretty dumb.

Don't know what else to say. We tried. We *always* try to help on BYC. Sorry it wasn't what worked. I'm unfollowing this thread since what we've offered wasn't helpful, and I have nothing more to add.

Good luck in whatever you do. Imma go put my goats to bed, drain the duck pool, and clean my flocks' waterers.

I really do hope you find peace.

Unfollowing.

I'm good. I have my own duck. Sorry these cannot be helped. But can't win them all, especially when you are fighting a State Park.

The thought that she was lying to you crossed my mind as well.
